Titanium Development Capability

Primary activities are devoted to:

1-Custom screening of titanium sponge fines.

2-Process developments to modify the morphology, size, and density of the existing input material.

3-Development of pressed and sintered parts applications in anticipation of the availability of larger quantities of input material of the size and quality needed to sustain commercial parts production.

4-A new titanium-based alloy system, the TiCarbonite alloy system, has been developed. This innovative TiCarbonite alloy system utilizes elemental titanium powder and special master alloy compositions with press and sinter manufacturing methods. TiCarbonite is essentially as hard as ceramic, offers greater ductility than ceramic, and is lighter than titanium, all while maintaining toughness and fracture resistance. Ballistics tests have demonstrated its superior ability to defeat bullets, leading to the issuance of 6 US patents and filings in multiple countries worldwide.

5-Development of our own proprietary process to produce titanium sponge granules from the raw materials, sodium and titanium tetrachloride.

Equipment currently in operation includes:

1-Powder screening and sizing equipment.

2-Hydraulic presses up to 200 tons.

3-Vacuum sintering furnace with temperature capability.

4-Lathe, mills, drill press, and assorted grinding and finishing equipment.

5-Inert gas weld chamber.

6-Various sizes of round and square shaped dies to make sample parts.
